Best practices

A few recommendations to get the most out of CallUp day-to-day and avoid common pitfalls.

Before the season​

  • Create your categories (COMPETITION, LEISURE, YOUTH, etc.) before adding many members at once: categorization is faster and more reliable when done as a flow.
  • Prepare the role tree: identify the presidents, coaches and managers, then the "parent" members who manage child profiles.

During the season​

  • Review event responses before creating a call-up: the eligible players list is computed from the present responses.
  • Use the ICS link from a call-up to simplify organization (added directly to the relevant members' calendars).
  • Anticipate the line-up for a match as soon as the call-up is ready: the field layout becomes available at that point.

Permissions and security​

  • Keep line-up editing to the authorized staff only (president, coach, manager); players and parents view it read-only.
  • Deleting a child profile is irreversible (anonymization): confirm with the parent before any deletion.
